I really liked the short sentences in this as well, @Shalini Agrawal and @Alex Houghton. The whole piece has quite a poetic air to it and I really liked it - great burrst!

Hi @Erin Gilstrap, I really liked this burrst. It's short, but sentimental and memorable. It's so true as well, although I've never actually thought about it. I guess a lot of authors focus on stuff like this though, like when they focus on the 'honour' to be found in battle . . .

Hi everyone,
I've not written on here in a long time (sadly) and just wanted to get something up again! Technically speaking, this post isn't flash fiction since it's an excerpt from my new book - a science fiction/crime space opera about a second Prohibition that happens when a lord bans alcohol in the star systems he controls.
This is my first book and I'm a complete unknown, so hopefully @Anthony Blackshaw won't mind me being a bit cheeky by putting this up (I'll happily remove this post if this isn't the case)! The book: He Who Fights and Runs Away (Broken Dark Season One, Episode One) is available on Amazon and Smashwords now. I'm running a promotion on Smashwords at the moment and Episode One can be downloaded for free using the coupon code: WB86S (available until 06/07/14).

This is a little different from your other 'Unknown Missives' stories, but I really enjoyed it and really liked the over all concept of the witch being buried beneath the crib. Good job @Jonathan Stevens!

I enjoyed this one, @Jonathan Stevens and thought the ending was clever - I didn't see it coming at all! If I might say so though, you could have made the whole piece more exciting and built on the action by using much shorter sentences and paragraphs.

Hi @james garrison and welcome to Burrst! I enjoyed reading this and thought it was very inventive. Thanks for the links to your other stories, by the way. I'll be sure to check them out because I definitely want to read more!

Hi @Shirley Golden! I really enjoyed this post and particularly liked your idea of the dragon being as afraid of people as people are of it, which obviously contrasts to the usual idea of them being fierce predators! I also liked your idea of the dragon's flames running out, which I thought was very clever!

Thanks @Orlando Ramos, I'm glad you liked it! I thought about making the dragon eat the fish as well actually, but I went off the idea as I wrote the story; though I don't really know why. And I appreciate you pointing out those missing sees, which was completely accidental! So thanks! It's so weird that a couple of them managed to slip through my editing unnoticed though...

So, some of you might recognise this post and it was actually one of the first ones I did on Burrst. I actually removed the original post when I planned to feature it an anthology, but after deciding not to use it I though I would repost here!
